24 September, after the callTwo changes. First, the warranty is now the customer’s choice. The installer no longer picks 12 or 18 years; every ATAG option on the customer’s quote offers both. The 18-year price is the £171 + VAT plus the installer’s usual materials mark-up, shown to the customer as one figure (£246.24 more in the example, at a 20% mark-up). Second, the package choice now comes earlier, as Haseeb suggested. When the installer taps “Add to the quote”, they choose the full ATAG package or just the boiler kit. The full package is the default: the controls pack, filter, inhibitor and cleaner, scale reducer and CO alarm come from ATAG with the boiler kit, and the installer can switch off any single item. The customer’s quote shows the Worcester job and the ATAG job side by side, each with one price. Confirming the order (section 5) no longer asks the question; it shows the package from the quote. The previous version is saved and can be restored. Also, “Preview the customer quote” in section 3 now opens the same ATAG quote template as section 4, filled in with whatever the installer has put on the quote, in place of the simplified phone cards it showed before.
21 September, Economiser choiceThe first ATAG offer now keeps the standard boiler with a 12/18-year warranty choice. The Economiser is available through “Add another ATAG option”, including on an existing ATAG quote. Each boiler appears once, with its own warranty choice. The customer quote uses the standard i28C and matching prices. PSMs will explain the Economiser to installers as they start using OPERA.
21 September, laterThe customer quote is interactive, after Kev asked whether the customer could toggle between the 12- and 18-year cost. In the ATAG box a 12 years / 18 years switch reprices the boiler (the 18-year adds £205.20) and the big warranty badge follows; each box shows what the price works out at per year of cover; “Choose this boiler” on either box puts the choice, warranty and price into the acceptance panel, where the customer ticks three confirmations (the template's five, grouped as in Kev's ChatGPT rework), types their name and accepts the quote online; the signature boxes are gone, the quote locks and the steps strip moves to step 4.
21 SeptemberAdding ATAG revised on Kev’s notes. The prompt card names the matched boiler and its fitted price against the Worcester, and the fee line is his: “With ATAG on the quote there is no £30 win fee, whatever boiler your customer chooses.” The introduction screen between the prompt and the match is gone, so “See the ATAG match” opens the match. The match screen is shorter: price, three comparison rows (warranty, flow rate, heat exchanger), the boiler-kit prices, the reason line and the two switches; “Why add ATAG?” is now the green button beside “Add to the quote”. The options run in his new order, the i28C 12-year first (a better boiler at a lower price), then the i28C 18-year, then the Economiser 27. The match line no longer states what it was matched on; the rows show it. Sign-up 5 of 5 carries his wording.
20 SeptemberAdding ATAG now says what the Economiser is, at the point the installer chooses it, after Kev’s question: “Flue gas heat recovery built into the boiler, so there is nothing extra to fit. Up to 10% less gas for hot water, about £68 a year for your customer.” The line sits under the Economiser switch on the match screen and on the Economiser upgrade card; the Why add ATAG sheet says the same in place of the old acronym.
19 SeptemberConfirming the order added as section 5, from Kev’s 18 September email. When the customer accepts, the installer confirms the order and picks the ATAG boiler kit (default) or the ATAG full spec, which adds the general products on their list with one price against the merchant. On a system boiler the controls pack can come off on its own and the rest of the spec stays. The merchant list shrinks to match. Prices for the general products are placeholders. Revised the same day after review: both prices in the first view, the controls pack as a switch, a regular boiler job with the pump, one order-by-4pm rule, and the payment link and merchant list both arriving by email once the order is confirmed.
18 SeptemberSign-up gains a “Check your email” step (code and password). Adding ATAG rebuilt in the same design as the rest of the site: the ATAG introduction, then the match, comparing the boiler kit (boiler, flue, programmer) with placeholder flue and programmer prices until Stu supplies them. Everything Kev approved in the earlier mock-ups carries over: his matching order, the upgrade options with the £50 mark-up, removal with Undo, equal customer cards. Fee wording is “OPERA is free to use; the one charge is £30 + VAT on a job won with no ATAG option on the quote”.
